BIOGRAPHY
Zoey Luna is an American actress, born in 2001, in Lynwood, California. Born male, Zoey discovered that her reality was different shortly before entering school. Her mother and her siblings were supportive of her feelings and her decision, but her father had more trouble accepting it. However, her father died suddenly when Zoey was young. Luna, of Latin descent and who was a prominent participant in various talent and acting contests, was constantly humiliated at her school for being transgender, to such an extent that the school’s administration asked her mother to change schools. Her difficult childhood, at age 13, is portrayed in the television documentary Raising Zoey (2017), directed by Dante Alecastre. In addition to making her voice heard in the documentary and in several interviews, Zoey has defended the rights of transgender people and has delved into how difficult it is to get work as an actress while being trans. However, Luna has achieved two important roles in her career: one in the series Pose (2019) and another in the film Young Witches: New Brotherhood (2020).
