BIOGRAPHY
Wolfgang Puck is a chef and restaurant entrepreneur, of Austrian and North American nationality, born on July 8, 1949, in Sankt Veit an der Glan, Carinthia, Austria. He became interested in culinary art due to his mother, who worked in a tourist resort as a cook and at the age of 14, he left home to work in hotel kitchens in his country and then traveled to France as an apprentice to important restaurants. At the age of 24, he emigrated to the United States, where he lived for a while in Indianapolis and then settled in Los Angeles, where he was hired by a businessman to be manager of the luxury restaurant Ma Maison, in Beverly Hills, which, thanks to the menu of Puck became one of the artists’ favorites. By 1982, Puck and his wife opened the restaurant Spago, which repeated his previous success and made him one of America’s first celebrity chefs. Puck has been a judge on shows such as Iron Chef America, Top Chef, MasterChef, Hell’s Kitchen , among others.
