The series, currently in its sixth season, revolves around US real estate mogul Todd Chrisley and his family. The show reveals Todd, the patriarch of the Chrisley family, as a strict father who rules his household with an iron fist.

Who is Todd Chrisley?
The real estate mogul was born on April 6, 1969 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He is one of his parents’ three children – Gene Raymond and Faye Chrisley. His father passed away in 2012.
Todd and his two brothers – Randy and Derrick – grew up in Westminster, South Carolina. Chrisley recalls that one of his fondest childhood memories was of him and one of his brothers jumping on their bikes and riding as far as they could. Unfortunately, Todd has never allowed his own children to ride bikes alone, as he feels it is unsafe.
There is no information about his educational background. Some biographers believe that Todd Chrisley may not have attended any other school after graduating from high school, substantiating their claim with the fact that three of his children never attended college and never graduated from college. He started a real estate management company (REO) called Chrisley Asset Management (CAM), although it is not known what year the company was incorporated as there are conflicting reports as to whether it was 2002, 2007 or 2008. CAM was headquartered in Atlanta with offices in New York, California, Texas, Florida and Nevada.
What the company basically does is liquidate reclaimed real estate for financial institutions by restoring and rehabilitating distressed assets and then selling them to make a profit.
In addition to CAM, Todd is also the founder of Executive Asset Management LLC, a company that operated from 2004-2008.
After the housing market collapsed in 2008, Todd Chrisley went bankrupt as CAM became very difficult to operate. According to his attorneys, with the market crashing, Todd was unable to meet his legal obligation on a $30 million loan he took out, resulting in huge debt that forced him into bankruptcy. In 2012, Chrisley did not file for bankruptcy and the following year filed for CAM’s bankruptcy. He claimed to have only $100 in cash, total assets of $4.2 million, and $49 million in debt.
After filing for bankruptcy, the case was put on hold for many months until 2015, when it was finally settled. However, in 2017, it was reported that almost three years later, the TV star still owed half of the money needed to pay off the debt.

All3Media and Maverick TV had approached him and said they felt his family was a show and that there was just something there. Is he gay? – Children and family
Todd Chrisley’s sexual orientation has been a topic of debate for as long as we can remember. Although he has staunchly denied being gay, many, including his estranged son Kyle, believe he may be lying and hiding his true sexuality from his family and the public.
Kyle came out openly in 2014 to accuse his father of being gay. In an interview with In Touch Weekly, he claimed that while working at his father’s CAM company, he overheard him asking to hold some of his male employees’ penises when they visited the gentlemen. He also said he suspected his father was dating a male doctor.
Chrisley came out again to deny his son’s claims. His ex-wife, Teresa Terry, also came forward to defend Todd, stating that he couldn’t be gay, at least not after she had two children with her.
Todd Chrisley has been married twice. His first marriage was to his high school sweetheart, Teresa Terry. They married in 1988 and had their first child, Lindsie, on September 17, 1989. Their second child, son Kyle Chrisley, was born in 1991. Unfortunately, their marriage ended in divorce in 1996.
After splitting from Teresa, he married former beauty queen Julie Chrisley in May 1996. The couple have three children together – Chase, Savannah and Grayson.
