Her mother was Countess Elżbieta Tyszkiewicz, she escaped from Poland to Italy at the time of the German occupation. She was captured with her mother and was sent back to Ravensbrück concentration camp, where they survived for two years. Her husband is actor Dennis Waterman, with whom she had a marriage relationship till 1998.
