Bartenders have been around for as long as alcohol has been around, that is since the beginning of time. The day is a big holiday. Take a stroll down to your favourite restaurant and thank your bartender on this day. Take the time to leave your bartender a tip, most of their income is made on tips. Try a new cocktail, ask your bartender to surprise you.

This day celebrates the act of making a gift and giving it to someone. The personal touch makes the gift that much more special. The tradition of giving gifts has been around since the beginning of time. The act of gift giving is believed to have been a way of establishing dominance. There are several older cultures where the gift giving culture was stemmed in tradition. In the middle ages the act of giving gifts had a much more romantic nature.
