Who Is Kix Drummer Jimmy Chalfant?

A well-known professional drummer who gained fame as a member of the American hard rock band Kix. In the 1980s, Kix would experience their greatest period of success until releasing Midnite Dynamite toward the close of the decade. On June 20, 1957, Jimmy Chalfant was born in the US. He was influenced as a young man by Cream drummer Ginger Baker. 1979 saw him join Kix.

Drummer Jimmy Chalfant Heart Attack

Friday, November 18, during the close of the performance, he was en route to the hospital in an ambulance in less than two minutes. Following a heart attack he had in October 2021, the tragedy happened.

Jimmy Chalfant, the drummer for Kix, collapsed during the close of their performance at the Tally-Ho Theater in Leesburg, Virginia, on night one of a two-night engagement, according to a band statement. He is now awake, alert, sleeping peacefully, and in excellent spirits in the hospital. Although certainly a cardiac event, it is currently unknown if Jimmy actually had a heart attack.

American glam metal and hard rock band Kix, sometimes known by the stylized name KIX, rose to fame in the 1980s. The band's original lineup was Steve Whiteman as the frontman, Donnie Purnell on bass, Jimmy Chalfant on drums, Ronnie "10/10" Younkins on guitar, and Brian "Damage" Forsythe on guitars. Before signing with Atlantic Records in 1981, Kix performed covers of bands like AC/DC, Aerosmith, April Wine, and Led Zeppelin. The band members have continued to sporadically record and tour since their career high in the late 1980s, including the Rocklahoma event in Oklahoma in 2008. Additionally, they frequently perform at the Maryland-based band's home state's annual M3 Rock Festival.
