Wendy Haskell – Bio, Sexual Harassment & Other Facts

Unfortunately, upon mentioning the name of Wendy Haskell, another name, Warren Moon, doesn’t come to mind for the right reasons. Wendy is an American sports reporter, physical therapist, orphan advocate and spokesperson, while Moon is a former American and Canadian football quarterback who became the first African-American quarterback inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Wendy Haskell started working at Warren Moon’s Sports 1 Marketing company in July 2017 and because she loved sports very much, she believed her new job was an opportunity to grow in her career in the sports industry. However, her excitement was dampened when, in addition to her responsibilities as Warren’s personal assistant, she was forced to accommodate his odd demands in order to keep her job.

When she couldn’t take doing things anymore, her boss made her go public about her experiences at the company and she accused the former soccer player of sexual harassment in December 2017. Because Warren was a public figure, the case also brought Wendy Haskell into the spotlight. Below you will find more information about Wendy, her bio, details about her sexual harassment suit and many other facts.

Wendy Haskell – Bio

Wendy Haskell was born in Buffalo, New York City in 1985 in the United States. She was very athletic, loved soccer and hockey in her youth and was a dancer in competitive gymnastics for 10 years with hopes of building a career. However, her dream of becoming a professional gymnast was cut short by injuries. Consequently, she switched to volleyball.

As a student at Clarence High School in Buffalo, Wendy used her athletic skills to compete in various sports including basketball and track and field. She was also on her school’s varsity volleyball team for four years and earned a Division 1 scholarship to volleyball college for her performance on the team.

This led her to the State University of New York, where she completed her Exercise Science degree in 2007 and her PhD in Physical Therapy in 2009. After graduating from college, Wendy Haskell briefly played professionally in the Lingerie Football League for the Miami Caliente in 2009.

Though she no longer plays, she has stuck to sports, either as a physical therapist or as a coach. As a therapist, she has worked at various facilities such as Polestar Pilates International, Western New York Physical Therapy Group, PLLC, Kiwi Physical Therapy in New York City and the Athletic Training Center in New York.

She also worked with Time Warner Cable SportsChannel as a supporting actor/color commentator from 2010 to 2016 and in Spangle as the director of growth and influencer relations for the app “kanga” from January 2015 to October 2016.

Sexual harassment

Wendy Haskell was just like any normal girl, living her life and pursuing her dream, until she made a bold move in 2017 that made her popular. In July of that year, she joined Sports 1 Marketing, a global sports and entertainment marketing agency founded by former NFL quarterback and Hall of Famer Warren Moon, based in Irvine, California.

Employed as Warren Moon’s personal assistant, Wendy Haskell was responsible for running errands for him, traveling with him on business, and arranging his performances. Shortly after working with Warren, who was then Seattle Seahawks radio analyst, she accused him of sexually harassing her.

According to her, she was forced to act according to his unreasonable demands in order to keep her job, and some of those demands, she said, she fell asleep with him on business trips on the same bed, nudged her drink and groped her while she slept and let her wear lingerie when they are alone together and always invade her privacy while she was taking a shower.

When she first experienced this, Wendy claimed she had met the company’s CEO and co-owner, David Meltzer, with a complaint about Warren Moon’s behavior, but instead of taking the necessary action, she was demoted for talking. In addition to the demotion, she was ordered to meet her boss’ requirements so that she could continue working at the company.

I Can’t Take the Abuse WendyOn December 4, 2017, Haskell filed a lawsuit against Moon in Orange County, California. On the matter, Wendy’s attorney, Diana Fitzgerald, revealed that her client never reported the issue to the police because she was afraid. Aside from that, she was also hoping to build her career in the sports market industry and little did she know that this kind of personal protocol would be reflected in her job descriptions.

In response to the lawsuit, Moon accepted that he had Wendy Haskell share his bed with him, but dismissed all other allegations, claiming that the lady was only taking legal action because his company refused to pay her $3 million in payouts to her to comply

Although Wendy Warren has demanded $3 million from The Moon, news of the suit’s possible outcome has yet to be heard. In the wake of the suit, the former NFL star was suspended indefinitely as a Seattle Seahawks radio analyst. Wendy herself left the company.
