Rio Ferdinand, the former Manchester United defender, has showered praise on Samuel Chukwueze’s goal in AC Milan’s 2-1 victory over Newcastle United.
Chukwueze came off the bench and scored the winning goal for the Rossoneri.
It was the Nigerian international’s second goal in the competition this season.
Newcastle United initially took the lead through Joellinton in the 60th minute.
Stefano Pioli’s side, who were under pressure for most of the game, equalized through Christian Public.
Chukwueze then scored the winning goal six minutes before the final whistle.
The winger superbly curled the ball into the net after receiving a pass from Noah Okafor.
While on punditry duty for TNT Sports, Ferdinand said, “Great burst of pace through the middle there and this is all about timing your runs, patience. The weight of that ball tells the wideman what he needs to do.” He added, “The patience of the player on the ball here before it is released, and then the pace of the ball, rolls it slowly, tells him exactly what to do. It’s a great strike.”
