A passenger, Brandon Jacobs, has been accused of fatally stabbing a female Uber driver, Yolanda Dillion, in Louisiana, US. The victim, who was also affiliated with the police force, was attacked from the backseat of her car, and the gruesome aftermath was posted on Facebook by the assailant.

Shortly after the incident, Jacobs was apprehended at a hotel where he had previously booked a room.

Sheriff Joseph Lopinto, in a press conference, disclosed the chilling confession in which Jacobs admitted to waking up with the intention of killing someone and picking his victim at random through the Uber service. He callously revealed the details of the attack, stating he stabbed Dillion from behind before casually leaving the scene.

Yolanda, who also served as a budget administrator for the New Orleans Police Department, was deeply respected by her colleagues. Superintendent Shaun Ferguson expressed the department’s profound sorrow at the loss, describing Yolanda as a humble yet impactful member of their team.

The Jefferson Parish Sherriff’s Office declared that Jacobs was swiftly captured “within hours of the murder,” revealing that the tragic event occurred when Yolanda was providing a ride through Uber.
