The Pastor of Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare, shared an unexpected experience when Mrs. Foluke Adeboye, fondly known as Mummy GO of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, surprised him with a phone call.
Recalling the moment, Bakare revealed that he was on a London highway when he received a text message and phone calls from Mummy GO, without initially realizing it was her.
He expressed his shock at the realization of who was calling, admitting that he was taken aback to the point of almost collapsing.
During a gathering of his followers at the Atlanta 2022 event, Bakare narrated how Mummy GO called to inquire about his health, having seen him on TV using a walking stick.
“I remember that I was on a London highway one day when Mrs. Adeboye called. She had sent a text and I think she also made phone calls but I didn’t know who (it was),” Bakare recalled.
He further explained that the message was signed with the initials ‘MGO,’ an abbreviation commonly used to refer to Mummy GO within the RCCG congregation.
Bakare recounted the phone call, stating, “So, I placed a phone call and said ‘good afternoon, I got a text from this number.’ She said, ‘Haa, don’t you know me again?’ I said, ‘Who is speaking?’ and she mentioned her name. My mouth is too small to call her by name.”
He also emphasized the care shown towards him by Mummy GO and expressed his own care for her and the congregation.
