Transfer: Osimhen told to shun Man United for Chelsea

Victor Osimhen Advised to Reject Manchester United in Favor of Chelsea Transfer

Concerns have been raised about Napoli and Super Eagles standout Victor Osimhen potentially joining Manchester United, with former Super Eagles Media Officer and ESPN pundit Colin Udoh suggesting that a move to Chelsea would be more beneficial for the striker.

Udoh believes that Chelsea has a history of supporting Nigerian players and has urged Osimhen to consider a transfer to London, emphasizing that the club has been favorable to players of Nigerian descent.

Despite signing a contract extension with Napoli until 2026, Osimhen’s future at the club remains uncertain, with links to Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United, as well as Real Madrid’s pursuit of a top striker for the next season.

Udoh pointed to the success of Nigerian players such as Celestine Babayaro, Mikel Obi, and Victor Moses at Stamford Bridge, highlighting the numerous trophies they won during their time at the club. He stated, “Chelsea, interestingly, have been really good to Nigerian players.”

Expressing his preference, Udoh added, “I think Chelsea will be a great place for Victor Osimhen. The one place I wouldn’t like to see him go no matter what happens or no matter how much money they give him is Manchester United.”

Currently, Osimhen is on international duty with the Nigerian senior men’s national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, where the team has progressed to the round of 16. He is anticipated to lead the team’s attack in the upcoming match against the Indomitable Lions.
