Labour party guber aspirant in Imo state, Humprey Anumudu, found dead in his Lagos home

Unfortunately, Humphrey Anumudu, a governorship aspirant for the Labour Party in the upcoming Imo State governorship primary, has passed away. He was discovered deceased in his residence in Lagos on the evening of Friday, March 24.

The late Anumudu was found dead in his Lagos residence, following his return from a meeting at the LP secretariat in Abuja. He hailed from the Mbieri Ancient Kingdom in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

Reportedly, he emerged as the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party governorship primary in the state in 1998. However, the ticket was later given to Achike Udenwa, who subsequently served as the state’s governor from 1999 to 2007. Nonetheless, Anumudu remained dedicated to vying for the state’s top office.

In 2019, he was the Zenith Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate. At the time of his passing, he was striving to contest for the position of Imo State governor under the Labour Party banner.

The deceased was the younger brother of Willy Anumudu, the pioneering CEO of Globe Motors.

May his soul rest in peace. Amen.
