The Final 2022 Golden Boy Shortlist Includes Jude Bellingham, Jamal Musiala, and Gavi

Jude Bellingham, Jamal Musiala and Gavi make final 2022 Golden Boy shortlist

Star player Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund, young talent Jamal Musiala from Bayern Munich, and Barcelona’s Gavi have been named among the final contenders for the 2022 Golden Boy award.

Headlining the 20 nominees is the England and Dortmund midfielder Bellingham, alongside Pedri, the 2021 award winner.

Additionally, fellow Barcelona prospects Ansu Fati and Nico, who is currently on loan at Valencia, have also made it to the shortlist.

The Golden Boy award, established by the Italian newspaper Tuttosport in 2003, is awarded annually to the best footballer under the age of 21.

Bellingham is among the favorites and could potentially become the third-ever Englishman to win the award, following in the footsteps of Wayne Rooney in 2004 and Raheem Sterling in 2014. If successful, he would join a prestigious list of previous winners including Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Paul Pogba, Kylian Mbappe, and Erling Haaland.
