Steven Gerrard: Early Life and Career

Steven George Gerrard, born on 30 May 1980, in Whiston, Merseyside England, is an English professional footballer who dedicated his entire club career to Liverpool FC starting from 1997. He also represented his country in 114 international games following his debut in 2000.

Recent estimations put Steven Gerrard’s net worth at over $60 million, with earnings of more than $17 million in his last year. This fortune was amassed from his successful career at Liverpool, including his captaincy, international matches for England, and various endorsement deals.

Steven Gerrard’s Great Career

Steven Gerrard began playing football in his early childhood, officially starting his professional career and accumulating his net worth in November 1997 after signing with Liverpool. He quickly established himself in the team and became an England player within two years. His appointment as club captain in 2003 further boosted his net worth. Throughout his 708 games for his club, Gerrard scored 184 goals, accompanied by 21 international goals for England. Not just a goal scorer, Gerrard also made a significant influence on his team, contributing to the growth of his net worth.

During his time at Liverpool, Gerrard and the team achieved notable success, including winning the FA Challenge Cup twice, The Football League Cup three times, The Football Association Community Shield in 2004, The UEFA Champions League in 2004, The UEFA Europa League in 2000, and The UEFA Super Cup twice in 2001 and 2005. His individual accomplishments, such as being named the Liverpool Top Goal Scorer three times, receiving the England Player of the Year Award twice, and the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year, further contributed to his net worth. He was also awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II in 2007 for his contributions to football in England.

Off the field, Gerrard’s autobiography ‘Gerrard: My Autobiography’ won the British Book Award as the Sports Book of the Year, adding to his wealth. Additionally, his endorsements with companies such as Lucozade, Jaguar Cars, Adidas, and Xbox One have significantly impacted his net worth. He even appeared in the film “Will” in 2011.

In January 2015, he signed an 18-month contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy of the US Major League Soccer, reportedly worth $9 million, further adding to his wealth. Gerrard married model Alex Curran in 2007, and the couple has three daughters.

1107 caps isn’t bad for someone who isn’t ‘a top, top player’, is it? I never expected to get that amount of caps. When I made my debut, I set myself the personal target of trying to get 50 caps and score 10 goals if I could. So to have 107 is something I am really proud of, particularly being among those names.
2It will be a dream come true if I can go there and lift it.
3But I think the Champions League Final puts a massive pressure on every player and the manager, but we’re enjoying the pressure and hopefully we can go there and win it.
4The Champions League is the competition everyone wants to be in.
5I think everyone around the world knows the tools are there in England’s armoury to do well in a World Cup. The challenge is to go out there and prove it.
6I am gonna go into my coaching badges after my England days are finished and I have the time on my international break.
7The fans have played a massive part in getting us to where we are, but the job’s not finished.
8I listen to the phone-ins on the way home and I know how the fans feel.
9Grilled salmon and brown pasta works for me every time.
10I’m a fan myself and I’m frustrated just as much as them when we get beat.
11I watched Italia ’90 with my Mum and Dad and my brother, you know, leaping around the house when the penalties were on… It would be great to be part of that, to have that kind of impact.
12Against Juventus we were massive underdogs, so to beat them was fantastic.
13But I it doesn’t matter who scores the goals so long as we win.
14When I leave the car park at Melwood, I try and become a completely different person. I try to get away from it. You have got to. Otherwise you end up like Jamie Carragher – obsessed!
15We are Liverpool Football Club and the expectations are so high.
16I’m born in Liverpool, I’m a Liverpool supporter.
17The odds were against us, but we deserve to be where we are.
18I have no regrets.
19I think it all goes down to who plays the better football on the night.
20Hopefully it’ll give us a bit of luck on the night, but I’m not really a superstitious person.
21To me it’s the best trophy you can win and to bring it back for all them fans that have supported us right through would be something special.
22If other people want to talk about my future I can’t control that.
23Even now I can say I’d love to finish my career here, and then stay in the game after that.
24It’s too easy to blame other people in football.
25I think we’ve got a lot players in the squad who are more suited to European football at the moment.
26There’s no doubt that the squad needs strengthening if we are to get back up among the top three because they are operating on another level to us at the moment.
27It was difficult knowing one of your cousins had lost his life.
28I’ve got absolutely no intention of ever going to play at another club.
29I might be an ambassador.
30I was always determined to make it as a footballer, but if things hadn’t worked out, I’d have maybe followed my dad into the building industry.
31If you don’t play well, you have a bad game or a nightmare you know that the amount of coverage is worldwide.
32In football, the hero and legend status is given out far too easily for me.
33I have always applied myself the same for club and country.
34This club is all about winning trophies and we’ve got a chance of bringing the greatest trophy of them all back to Anfield, so it means a great deal obviously.
35I think every player listens out for his name being sung and it’s something I really enjoy.
36I share their frustration at times and I get down just like them when we suffer a bad result.
37I’m playing second fiddle to Justin Bieber – Bieber Fever is sweeping our house, and my girls have made it clear I’m no longer their favourite man.
