Steve Jacoby Obituary, Death – On July 2, 2023, the day of his late wife’s birthday, Steven F. “Steve” Jacoby, 76, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, formerly of Hastings, Nebraska, passed away at Cottonwood Creek Memory Care in Cheyenne. Steve was the son of the late Floyd G. Jacoby and Helen (Strauch) Jacoby Scott. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on December 10, 1946.
Despite his hectic job schedule, he found time to coach midget football for one year and little league baseball for several years. Steve and Pat always found satisfaction in their friendships from high school, which lasted a lifetime. Weekend evenings were frequently spent with one or more of their friends, and as their families grew, the couples loved taking many cruises together to destinations like Las Vegas, Colorado, Hawaii, the Panama Canal, and the Caribbean islands.
Madeline and Abigail, Steve’s two grandchildren, were his biggest sources of pride. Known by most as “Grandpa” or “Gramps,” he rejoiced in having the daughters closer to him when he and Pat moved to Cheyenne in 2015. He also liked their trips to Hastings. His health worsened when his wife passed away in 2022, so he relocated to Cottonwood Creek Memory Care, where he received excellent, compassionate care from staff members.
In addition to his many nieces and nephews, Steve is survived by his son Jeff Jacoby and wife Wendy of Cheyenne; granddaughter Abigail Jacoby and fiancée Laura Walker of Billings, MT; granddaughter Madeline Jacoby of Bloomington, MN. His parents, his loving wife of 54 years, Pat Jacoby, his daughter Angela Jacoby in 2013, and his brother Larry Jacoby all passed away before him.
