Speed Limit Reduction Coming On Section Of Skyline Boulevard Starting Wednesday |

Effective Wednesday, September 1 the speed limit on a section of Skyline Boulevard will be lowered to 20 miles per hour.

The section of the road from Mary Gojack Park to Horseman's Park will be decreasing by 10 miles per hour, after the City of Reno City Council adopted an ordinance for the reduction.

The reduction was passed after many Ward 1 residents requested the speed to be lowered due to parks nearby.

Public Works will be installing new speed limit signs this week on the stretch of road between Villa Marbella Circle and Pioneer Drive.

“This is an area that has been of concern with residents for many years,” Reno City Councilmember Jenny Brekhus said. “I hope this reduction will improve safety and be welcomed by neighbors in that area.”
