Adele has disclosed that her Vegas performances led to an unpleasant fungal skin infection.

The British singer, 35, has revealed that she developed ‘jock itch’ from sweating in her Spanx under the intense stage lights at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Jock itch, also known as tinea cruris, is a fungal skin infection that affects the groin area, including the upper thighs, buttocks, and lower abdomen.

Addressing the crowd during her recent residency concert, Adele mentioned feeling ‘so hot’ and experiencing sweat in uncomfortable places, stating ‘I need a towel, Jesus!’

She also shared that her doctor diagnosed her with jock itch, saying: ‘It is a bit crude but I never knew it existed!’

Further explaining the situation, Adele said, ‘When I do my shows, I wear Spanx to contain and shape my body. I sweat a lot and it doesn’t dissipate, leaving me sitting in my own sweat. That’s how I got Jock Itch.’

She added, ‘So it looks like I am an athlete basically, so I have to apply the medication on myself. I don’t know why I just shared that with you!’

Continuing, Adele talked about her renewed interest in weight lifting and her nerves about returning to her Vegas residency after a three-month hiatus.

‘All week I had just been buzzing and right then I was stood right there (behind the curtain) and I s**t myself!’ she confessed.

‘We had a very long break and I am gassed to be back. I was bored out of my brains. Somehow I missed you. It is a lovely change. I genuinely love doing these shows and it is the highlight of my week. I was desperate to get back. It is a whole new meaning.’
