Tragic Incident at Ibeshe Beach on Christmas Day

The authorities in Lagos State have reported a heartbreaking incident that occurred at Ibeshe Beach on Christmas Day, resulting in the drowning of two siblings.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Police Command in the state, disclosed to NAN on Thursday in Lagos that the incident was reported to the police by a witness.

The unfortunate event took place around 6:00 pm while the two brothers were swimming alongside their friends at the beach.

The brothers, identified by the surname Adegboyega and aged 26 and 23, were residents of Festac Town, according to Hundeyin.

Despite the attempts made by the brothers’ friends and local divers to rescue them, their efforts were in vain. Subsequently, the incident was reported to the police.

Following the report, detectives from the police force visited the scene of the drowning.

The authorities engaged local divers to help locate the bodies of the deceased and immediately informed their family about the tragic occurrence.
