The placement of a witch doll on her balcony at her Barcelona home, facing opposite the house of her ex’s mother, Montserrat Bernabeu, has ignited a family feud instigated by Shakira.
This move comes shortly after the 45-year-old Columbian singer released a diss track targeting her ex-husband, Gerard Pique, and his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti.
Reports indicate that neighbors were able to hear the singer playing her latest song, “Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions 53,” at a volume that some describe as “blasting.” The song, which many perceive as a diss track, contains lyrics that seemingly take subtle jabs at Pique and his new relationship with 23-year-old Clara Chia Marti.
In one section of the track, she sings, “I’m worth two 22’s. You traded a Ferrari for a Twingo. You traded a Rolex for a Casio,” which appears to reference Marti, who allegedly began dating Pique at the age of 22.
Shakira further sings, “You left my mother-in-law as my neighbor, with the press at the door and the debt in the Treasury.” While the Colombian artist reportedly had a positive relationship with Bernabeu, this dynamic evidently shifted following the couple’s separation. A Twitter user expressed enthusiasm for the situation, stating, “I cba with celebrity gossip but when I tell you that I’m LIVING for this Shakira-Pique smoke…”
In response to Shakira’s diss track, Gerard Pique showed up at training in a Twingo after the singer mentioned that he traded “a Ferrari for a Twingo”.
Shakira, who is 45, parted ways with Pique in 2022 after a 10-year relationship, amid reports of infidelity on his part. They share two children: Milan, 9, and Sasha, 7.
