Scott was born Scott Richard Wolf on June 4, 1968 to parents, Susan and Stephen Wolf in Boston, Massachusetts. He is from a Jewish family and his father was a health official. He spent his childhood in West Orange, New Jersey and attended West Orange High School. He graduated in finance from George Washington University.

One of the first films he presented was the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles which was shot in 1990. In 1991 he starred in All I Want For Christmas. He then added other films during the 90s, including Bonnie and Klepto Clyde, Double Dragon, The Evening Star, and Welcome to Hollywood. In 2008 he also made an appearance on CSI: NY as MacQuinn Taylor in the episode titled “My Name is Mac Taylor”

She rose to popularity when she appeared on the MTV reality show, The Real World which appeared across major US channels. Scott caught the love bug when he saw her on the show. Joel Goldman, a mutual friend living in New York, introduced the two, who bonded and dated for two years.

The two married in 2004 in Fayetteville. Scott was then 35 while Kelley was 27 when they walked down the aisle of the Arkansas Episcopal Church. The couple have not yet been married. Their reception was memorable as it took place at a private estate after which the two then flew to South Africa for their honeymoon.
