In an astonishing prediction for the 2022 World Cup Final, football legend Samuel Eto’o claims that Cameroon will emerge victorious over Morocco in this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
The former striker for Barcelona and Inter Milan, who represented Cameroon in four editions of the tournament, believes that this is the time for an African team to showcase their full potential.
Currently, Cameroon holds the 35th spot in the world rankings, while Morocco sits slightly higher at 22nd.
Eto’o expressed to ESPN that “Africa has always had the potential to achieve a successful World Cup, but we haven’t always shown our best face up to now.” He emphasized that African teams have gained valuable experience over the years and are now prepared not only to participate in the World Cup but also to clinch the victory.
His bold statement asserted, “Cameroon will win the World Cup final against Morocco.”
Eto’o also mentioned his belief that Morocco will eliminate Spain, Portugal, and France, while Cameroon, for which he currently serves as president of the federation, will surpass Belgium and Senegal in the quarter-finals and semi-finals before ultimately triumphing over Morocco.
“As president of our federation, I would love to see Cameroon win the World Cup,” he added.
