An investigation is underway at the Archdiocese of Hartford in Connecticut following a report from a priest about the multiplication of Communion hosts during Mass.
The Rev. Joseph Crowley, leader of the congregation at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Thomaston, United States, revealed during Mass on March 5, 2023, that a parishioner assisting with Communion that day had witnessed a possible miracle, as reported by news station WFSB.
During a video recorded at the church on the same day, Crowley, visibly emotional, recounted, “One of our eucharistic ministers was running out of hosts and suddenly there were more hosts in the ciborium. God just duplicated himself in the ciborium.” The clergyman described the suspected miracle as “very powerful, very awesome, very real, very shocking.”
Crowly addressed the faithful, saying “It’s really, really cool when God does these things, and it’s really, really cool when we realize what he’s done.”
This possible Communion miracle occurred on March 5 at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston, Connecticut.
According to the cleric, by the end of Communion, there appeared to be either just as many, or possibly even more, hosts inside the ciborium than there had been at the beginning of Mass.
Archbishop Leonard Blair mentioned in a statement to the Hartford Courant that if the Thomaston miracle is verified, it “would constitute a sign or wonder that can only be attributed to divine power to strengthen our faith in the daily miracle of the Most Holy Eucharist.”
