Chief Sunday Akanbi Akinola, popularly known as Baba Feyikogbon, has passed away at the age of 80.
The actor gained fame in the 1980s and 1990s with his widely acclaimed weekly sitcom, the Feyikogbon series, which aired on NTA Channel 7 Lagos for over 13 years.
Born on September 19, 1942, Akinola had been battling kidney failure for an extended period and had appealed to the public for assistance in 2019.
At the time, he had disclosed his need for 30 million Naira to seek treatment abroad for kidney failure and hypertension.
Prior to seeking public aid, in a 2014 interview, he expressed that his popular play brought him fame but not fortune.
Tragically, after a prolonged battle with the illness, he has passed away.
