American rapper, 50 Cent, has initiated a lawsuit against a South Florida-based plastic surgeon for allegedly misrepresenting a photo they took together to falsely insinuate that he had undergone penile surgery at her clinic.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the 47-year-old rapper, in his legal filing, named plastic surgeon Angela Kogan and her businesses, Perfection Plastic Surgery and MedSpa, accusing her of persistently circulating the photo to create the impression that he had undergone surgery on his genitals.
The rapper mentioned that he originally took the photo in February of 2020, presuming Kogan was a fan, and expressed his discontent with her ongoing use of it on social media platforms.
50 Cent claimed in the legal documents that the misrepresentation gained traction when The Shade Room published a story last month about men undergoing procedures for sexual enhancement, using the image of the rapper and the plastic surgeon in connection with the story.
Furthermore, 50 Cent asserted that Kogan and her associates are fully aware that he never underwent surgery at the clinic, and demanded them to cease the usage of the photo in all circumstances.
He argued that the implication suggested by the picture has caused harm to his professional and personal life, and constitutes misuse of his name and image.
In addition, 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson III, is also seeking financial compensation from Kogan for the publication of the image.
Kogan’s attorney, Darren Heitner, informed TMZ that the rapper received services from Perfection Plastic Surgery and posed for the picture with Kogan as a form of compensation, with the understanding that she would use it for advertising her business.
Heitner asserted that 50 Cent did not undergo any penile enhancement procedures and was aware of Kogan’s online post of the image, but only expressed objection to it years later.
He added, “Our clients did not take a single action to cause any damage to Mr. Jackson’s professional or personal reputation and will vigorously defend against the frivolous claims that have been publicly filed against them and their thriving business,” as told to the outlet.
