Ralph Edward Tresvant was born on May 16, 1968 in Roxbury in Boston, Massachusetts. He was born to his mother Patricia and his father Raphn Edward Tresvant, Sr. From a young age, Tresvant loved listening to music and singing. It was a passion that he also shared with his younger brothers.
Now coming to his academic studies, Ralph was a decent student who used to sing at school. He would also perform at various school events and his musical talents were widely appreciated from the start.

As he began to sing in front of a large audience, Ralph met several new people. He also met the people who would help him start the boy band. The group called New Edition originally consisted of Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Ricky Bell, and Michael Bivins. They wanted this band to be a newer version of the Jackson 5 and unfortunately the New Edition name. They released their debut album Candy Girl in 1983 and enjoyed a rapid rise to stardom. The album was a huge success and brought singles like Popcorn Love to fame.
The success of the band itself meant that the members also enjoyed good solo careers. Although all the members gave their solo careers a shot, it was Tresvant’s solo album that went on to top the R&B charts. After enjoying a successful period with his own work, Ralph formed a new band, “Heads of State”, which also did relatively well.

Now coming to his love life, Ralph has been married twice. He was first together with his childhood sweetheart, Shelly. They even had three children together, but sadly things didn’t work out between the two of them. In more recent years, we have received reports suggesting that Shelly has gone missing. She now she has been using cocaine and is homeless in Atlanta.

In 2004, Ralph married for the second time. On this particular occasion, he went with a longtime fan, Amber Serrano. It was a double wedding with Ralph’s bandmate Ricky Bell, who was also hanging out with Amy Correa Bell. Amber and Ralph have been together since 2004 and now have a son, Dakari Tresvant.
