Austin Richard Post was born on July 4, 1995 in Syracuse, New York, United States. Despite being born in New York, he moved to Grapevine, Texas when he was only 9 years old. His father is Rich Post, who worked for the Dallas Cowboys. His mother, on the other hand, walked out of his life when Austin was very young. However, he has a stepmother, Jodie Post, who took good care of him while he was growing up.

Austin had a great love for music from a very young age. He has been introduced to different musical genres thanks to his father, who was also a DJ. Malone was able to learn to play the guitar thanks to YouTube videos. While he showed his musical brilliance from a very young age, Austin was not doing very well academically. Austin Richard attempted to start his musical journey when he was only 15 years old. He auditioned for a band called “Crown the Empire” in 2016, but was turned down as his guitar strings broke during the audition. He then was working alone and started making various mixtapes. Later, he came up with an alias for himself, Post Malone, and released his first solo, “White Iverson”. The song was an instant hit and his YouTube video has gone on to cross over 679 million videos.
Also, after his initial success, Malone started releasing more songs like “Too Young”, “Tear$”, “Patient”, etc. that they were able to climb the charts. To take her career to a whole new level, Austin signed a deal with Republic Records which has collaborated with rappers like 50 Cent and Kanye West. Since signing with the industry-leading label, Post Malone has released songs like “Congratulations” and “Rockstar.” These two songs are some of the most played hip-hop songs on YouTube. Most recently, he sang the Sunflower song with Swae Lee for the new Spide-Man movie. In just 4 months, the song has managed to generate more than 319 million viewers.
