Pete Walsh Obituary, Death – Peter Robert Walsh, 68, of Finland, Minnesota, died on January 19, 2023. The victim was surrounded by loved ones, listening to Willie Nelson, and receiving medical care at St. Luke’s hospital. Pete was born in summer 1954 in Lewiston, Maine. In autumn 1956, the subject’s family moved to the North Shore of Lake Superior, where he grew up in Hollow Rock near Grand Portage. In Minnesota, he lived in Hovland and Grand Marais. Pete finished high school in Grand Marais in spring 1973.

He retired from the Finland Fire Department in 2019. He sold firefighting and search and rescue equipment to allocate limited financial resources and give local departments the best prices. This strategy sought to increase departmental budget flexibility.
He was a Finland Search and Rescue team member from 1986 till 2014. After overcoming test anxiety and persevering through several failed attempts, the individual passed the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) exam. Pete worked during daylight hours and responded to local emergencies. The person spent a lot of time treating medical issues, searching for missing people on land, air, and water, supporting friends and strangers, delivering bad news, and comforting those in need.
