Plumas County Sheriff's Office says that one man is dead after a fire broke out inside a motel room in Quincy California.
Deputies responded to the Pine Hill Motel after receiving several calls of a fire Sunday morning around 5:30 a.m.
When they arrived found two units fully engulfed in flames.
The fire spread to a spread to a wooded area behind the motel and moved quickly uphill. That poses an additional threat to the outer lying area.
Crews did stop the fire from spreading to other structures and contained the flames to one acre.
Deputies say that one man who was inside one of the units died as a result of the fire.
They are notifying next of kin.
