NSIB reveals findings of power minister plane crash incident

The initial findings of the plane crash involving Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu’s aircraft have been disclosed by the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, over a month after the incident. The aircraft, operated by Flint’s Aero Service, crashed near Ibadan on November 3. According to Mr Tunji Oketunbi, the Head of Public Affairs at NSIB, the airline, Flints Aero Service, was found to be implicated in the incident. The investigation revealed that the airline had been issued a Permit for Non-Commercial Flight, which explicitly prohibited carrying passengers, cargo, or mail for compensation. Despite this regulation, the flight violated the permit by transporting the minister and nine others. The report also stated that the aircraft accommodated ten individuals and had a fuel endurance of three hours.
