As per the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the Nigeria Premier Football League(NPFL) is set to have a representative at the 2023 Africa Nations Cup in Ivory Coast, among the 24 participating countries’ leagues presenting players in Cote d’Ivoire.
Ojo Olorunleke, the goalkeeper for Enyimba, will be the sole representative from the NPFL during the tournament, which will see the South African Premier League having the highest number of representatives with 12 players, followed by Egypt with 8 players.
Tanzania will have 7 representatives, while Tunisia and Mozambique will have 6 representatives each. Zambia will have 5 representatives, and Algeria and Botswana will each have 4 representatives.
The competition is scheduled to commence from January 13 to February 11, 2024, with Nigeria placed in Group A alongside hosts Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau.
