Nigerian junior soldiers haul abuses at Sanwo Olu over colleague’s arrest

Nigerian junior soldiers express displeasure toward Sanwo Olu for the arrest of their colleague

Sanwo Olu, the governor of Lagos state, has come under criticism from junior-ranking military personnel for the arrest and mistreatment of one of their colleagues who was caught driving against traffic in the state.

A viral video captured the governor instructing his security details to pursue motorcyclists reportedly violating traffic rules. When one of the detained individuals revealed he was a soldier, the governor angrily ordered his arrest, despite the soldier’s apologies.

The governor’s actions have caused outrage among the rank and file of the army. In multiple videos, soldiers can be seen condemning the governor’s treatment of their fellow soldier, citing the sacrifices made by the arrested individual for the country.

One visibly angered soldier criticized the governor, highlighting the paradox of labeling a soldier as “useless” while relying on them for certain tasks.

There’s a reason almost every soldier in Nigeria would love to beat Sanwoolu right now.

I’m sure you can guess the reason.
