NCPC and State Pilgrimage Leaders Embark on Visit to Greece

A delegation from the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) and the state pilgrimage leaders has arrived in Greece for a visit to inspect holy sites and hotels in preparation for the upcoming pilgrimage scheduled for early next year.

On Friday, a statement from NCPC Spokesperson Celestine Toruka announced that the inspection team, led by the commission’s Executive Secretary Rev Yakubu Pam, comprised of state pilgrimage leaders and managers.

On November 21, 2023, the team inspected holy sites in Corinth and Athens, significant locations from Apostle Paul’s second missionary journey.

The team expressed satisfaction with the facilities at the inspected hotels, emphasizing that “the commission will continue to prioritize the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.”

Pam elaborated that the commission and state leaders had agreed to make Rome and Greece the next pilgrimage destination for the 2024 main pilgrimage exercise, hence the pre-visit tour of the holy sites and hotels in the two countries.

Commencing on November 16 and concluding on December 23, 2023, the NCPC delegation and state Pilgrimage Leaders embarked on a pre-visit tour of Holy sites and hotels in Rome and Greece.

At the conclusion of the pre-visit tour in Greece, the NCPC head encouraged state leaders to ensure “early commencement of the pilgrimage process in their respective states.”
