NBA Youngboy Cleared of Federal Gun Charges

NBA Youngboy found not guilty in federal gun case

Following a two-hour deliberation, rapper NBA Youngboy, whose real name is Kentrell Gaulden, has been acquitted of possessing a firearm and ammunition as a felon in his California federal gun case.

The charges against Youngboy stemmed from a March 2021 incident when agents attempted to pull over the car he was in to execute an outstanding federal warrant for a separate case in Louisiana. After a brief foot chase, the rapper was arrested, and a FNX .45 caliber pistol and ammunition were found underneath the passenger seat of his Maybach.

His lawyers argued that he was not the sole user of the car and was unaware of the gun’s presence.

Both NBA’s lawyer Andre Belanger and the U.S. Attorney’s Office have confirmed the verdict. The rapper still faces a similar trial in the upcoming months stemming from his 2020 arrest in Baton Rouge.
