This well-organized form of education also meant that Minjee Lee would not find it very difficult to coach and train extremely hard on the golf course. When the Korean-Australian was 10 years old, she was already training and practicing up to eight hours a day; something that paid off later, as she began to blossom in her professional golf career.

At the age of 9 in 2010, she achieved the feat of being the youngest winner of the WA Amateur Open at Methodist Ladies’ College, Perth. She then left Methodist College to enroll at Corpus Christi College in 2012 to be closer to her golf course. In 2013, she left the latter school.

At the age of 11, Minjee managed to catch Ritchie Smith’s attention with her impressive talents. He then became her golf coach.
