Michelle Jackson, who is a singer and songwriter, has opened up about the reasons behind her divorce from Don Jazzy.
In a candid revelation, Michelle disclosed that she tied the knot with Don Jazzy just a week after celebrating her 22nd birthday.
According to her, they first crossed paths in a club, where Don Jazzy’s music group was distributing their fliers. She found Don Jazzy intriguing and passed her number to a mutual friend who acquainted her with Don Jazzy.
Following a phone call from Don Jazzy, the duo initiated their relationship, which eventually culminated in marriage.
Reflecting on their separation, Michelle highlighted their young age and shared careers in the music industry as major factors. Don Jazzy’s extensive commitment to his music career often kept him away from home.
During an appearance on Naija FM, she expressed, “Don Jazzy is music, and I said to him many times, he’s not just got a talent, he’s got a special gift. And he just needed to go and be himself and go and do his music.”
She added, “We were both pursuing our music careers at the same time and he got discovered by JJC Skillz, so his talent took him out of the home a lot more and at this point I’d put my music on the backburner to balance some home life.”
Michelle continued, “He was very into the music and it kind of got in the way.”
