She was born Marjorie Armstrong Post but later be better known as Markie Post. Markie was born on November 4, 1950 in Palo Alto, California. One of the factors that influenced her into the visual arts was the fact that her mother, Marylee Post, was a poet. For his part, his father, Richard F. Post was a nuclear physicist. Markie has two siblings – Rodney Post and Stephen Post.

She and her siblings were raised in Stanford and Walnut Creek. She attended Las Lomas High School and during her time there Post was, like most students, involved in extracurricular activities. She stood out for her cheerleading team at school.
Moving to Portland, Oregon, she attended Lewis &Clark College; She also spent a brief period at Pomona College. Post-graduate with a Bachelor of Arts. Prior to acting, Markie was on many game shows as part of their production teams. It wasn’t a career move that would seem natural to an up-and-coming talent who dreams of making it big in Hollywood. As time will tell, it seems her time on game shows helped her gain some valuable experience.
She was part of Tom Kennedy’s Split Second. She also worked as an assistant producer on Alex Trebek’s Double Dare. As she rose to fame, she appeared as a celebrity on several game shows, including Pyramid and Password.

Markie Post prides itself on being very family oriented. Besides her parents and siblings, she married twice, the first to her son Stephen Knox, a College idol in 1971. Oddly enough, on September 5, 1972, they divorced.

She then fell in love with Micheal A. Ross who is a producer and writer. Ross is the producer of hits such as Rules of Engagement (2007), Better Off Ted (2009) and Kirk (1995). Micheal and Markie got married on February 7th , 1982 and they have two daughters together, namely Katie Ross and Daisy Ross. She is said to have had an affair with former US President Bill Clinton.

She made her film debut in 1978 on the American game show Card Sharks, where she played the role of dealer.
