Mark Sheppard, the Hollywood actor renowned for his role as Crowley in the hit series “Supernatural,” recently disclosed that he underwent six heart attacks and had to be resuscitated multiple times.
Sharing the shocking news on Instagram, Sheppard wrote, “You’re not going to believe this! Was on my way to an appointment yesterday when I collapsed in my kitchen. Six massive heart attacks later, and being brought back from dead 4 times I apparently had a 100% blockage in my [left anterior descending artery].”
At the age of 59, Sheppard shared a selfie from his hospital bed as he took a moment to rest.
The star of “Doom Patrol” revealed that he suffered from what is commonly known as a “widowmaker” heart attack, which entails a complete blockage in the heart’s biggest artery.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, such an attack results from a “full blockage in [the] heart’s biggest artery.”
Reflecting on the ordeal, Sheppard expressed, “My chances of survival were virtually nil. I feel great. Humbled once more. Home tomorrow!”
In addition to expressing his gratitude, Sheppard acknowledged his wife, Sarah Louise Fudge, the Los Angeles Fire Department, and the hospital staff who provided care during his health crisis.
