Manchester United faces Covid-19 outbreak among players and staff

Positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported among Manchester United players and staff following the team’s Premier League match at Norwich on Saturday.

Despite testing negative before the 1-0 victory at Carrow Road, United received positive lateral flow tests before training on Sunday, December 12.

In response, training sessions were modified to consist of individual and non-contact activities conducted outdoors for those who tested negative.

The Premier League has been informed about the outbreak and there is a possibility that the game against Brentford on Tuesday may get canceled.

Additionally, Aston Villa had a positive Covid-19 case in their playing squad, leading to the cancellation of a recovery session at the club’s Bodymoor Heath training ground on Sunday.

Outbreaks of the disease have also affected other clubs like Manchester City and Brentford.
