Manchester United has added two players to their transfer shortlist as they look to bolster their centre-back position under manager Erik ten Hag. The club is closely monitoring Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
After a difficult start to the season, Man United currently find themselves in seventh position in the Premier League table. They also suffered an early exit from the Champions League at the group stage last month.
According to The Evening Standard, Man United’s priority is to sign a centre-forward of the caliber of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane to provide support for Rasmus Hojlund, who has only managed two league goals since joining from Atalanta. The report also indicates that the club is keen on acquiring a top-class No.8 for the midfield, as well as reinforcements at right-back and in central defense.
Branthwaite and Todibo have now been added to Man United’s shortlist of prospective targets at centre-back. However, competition for both players is expected to be tough should Man United step up their interest in the upcoming January transfer window.
