A man in Roscommon, Ireland tragically passed away after being attacked by an aggressive chicken. Jasper Kraus, a cancer survivor, suffered severe bleeding when the Brahma chicken pounced on him, causing wounds to his left leg. His daughter, Virginia Guinan, found him fast asleep at home and did not want to disturb him due to his recent emotional distress over the passing of his dog. Later, she was informed by a tenant, Corey O’Keeffe, about the incident.
When she arrived at her dad’s house, she discovered blood all over the floor and witnessed paramedics performing CPR. Virginia mentioned that her father, who was on a lot of medication due to his ill health, was in remission from cancer at the time of the chicken attack. She also noticed a puncture wound on his left leg and followed a trail of blood leading to the chicken house, realizing that the chicken was likely responsible for his death.
Furthermore, Virginia noticed blood on one of the chickens’ claws and believed it to be the same one that had attacked her daughter previously. Corey, who lived in the house, recounted finding Jasper with a large wound on his calf, which was bleeding profusely, and sought medical assistance.
Despite efforts to save Jasper, the doctor noted the unusual circumstances of his death, as a wound from a chicken led to his demise. During the autopsy, it was determined that lethal cardiac arrhythmia, in the context of severe coronary atheroma and cardiomegaly, was the cause of death. This unexpected and tragic incident serves as a sobering reminder of the unpredictability of life.
