A 26-year-old travel blogger has responded to accusations of being “creepy” for being in a relationship with a 23-year-old woman who has the appearance of an 8-year-old girl.
Dan Swygart has recently started dating reality star Shauna Rae who, due to treatment she received as a child for brain cancer, has her growth stunted. She now weighs 50 lbs and stands at 3f 10in tall.
Rae’s unique physique has been the focus of the TLC reality series “I Am Shauna Rae.”
Due to her size, Rae has faced challenges in dating as she expressed in an interview with The Post, where she mentioned being underestimated and excluded due to her appearance.
Swygart has shared several photos with Rae on Instagram and posted a video passionately defending their relationship.
In the video, Swygart shared their initial interaction, revealing that he approached Rae with flowers after watching the first season of her show, leading to them meeting in person and going on multiple dates together.
He stressed the importance of acknowledging Rae’s disability and building a genuine connection based on who she is as an individual, stating, “She deserves to have relationships and connections with whoever she wants.”
Swygart, originally from the UK, appears in the second season of “I Am Shauna Rae,” where he is seen forming a bond with the petite star.
However, Swygart has faced criticism from viewers who have labeled him “sick” for considering Rae as a legitimate love interest.
“Yes, she is 23, but she looks and talks like an eight-year-old. She also does not act like a mature woman. She is childlike,” one critic commented.
Another individual stated, “If any man or woman can honestly say that they can see her as a ‘sexual woman,’ they are either lying or sick. PERIOD.”
