BIOGRAPHY
Of British and Costa Rican origin, Madeleine Stowe began her career as an actress in a theater in Beverly Hills. She then appeared in several television productions, including The Gangster Chronicles: an American Story (1981), during which she met her future husband, actor Brian Benben . In 1987, she was the young woman placed under the surveillance of Richard Dreyfuss in the police comedy Close Surveillance by John Badham .

His charm and romanticism are highlighted in Two Jakes (the sequel to Chinatown , 1990) and the thriller Revenge by Tony Scott with Kevin Costner (id.). She then played Cora Munro, the young woman in love with The Last of the Mohicans (1992). Continuing her momentum, she starred in Robert Altman ‘s Short Cuts (1993) , an ensemble film in which she is a deceived wife desperately clinging to her husband. Followed by the female western Les Belles de l’Ouest and two other thrillers : Blink , where she witnesses a murder, and Red Moon , where she plays the role of a femme fatale opposite Ed Harris . The biggest male stars compete on screen: Bruce Willis in the futuristic Army of the 12 Monkeys (1996), John Travolta in the military thriller The Dishonor of Elisabeth Campbell (1999), Mel Gibson in the film of war We were soldiers (2002) and Sylvester Stallone in the mafia comedy Mafia love (id.).
