Lime Relaunches 550 Electric Scooters in South Lake Tahoe |

Officials at Lime say they are back in South Lake Tahoe for their third summer of business.

They said around 550 electric scooters were placed throughout the city.

Residents can expect to pay $1.00 to start and $0.15 per minute to ride the scooters.

Officials with Lime said last summer was a successful one, with 60,000 riders completing 260,000 rides.

The fleet of scooters began rolling out on Friday.

Stefanie Sarradet, Operations Manager for Lime in Tahoe, released this statement:

“We are excited and grateful to return to the Tahoe Basin for a third Summer. Innovative technologies like electric scooters can impact our community in such a positive way.  They are fun and affordable to ride and reduce the footprint we are leaving as a community on our precious natural environment. This service reduces traffic congestion in our town and improves the experience of our riders as they head out to explore the wonders of the lake. We are so grateful to the many business partners who support us in creating this network, and look forward to the Summer months to come.”
