In the fifth season of AMC’s drama Breaking Bad, Laura Fraser cemented her position among those who possess this special skill to perform the role assigned to them. Her accent as Lydia on the show was so powerful that most people, including some of her castmates, didn’t realize she wasn’t an American. Although she joined the series towards the end, she confessed afterwards that she had a lot of fun with her character.
In addition to Breaking Bad, Laura Fraser credits several other film and television roles with Neverwhere, A Knight’s Tale, and Lip Service as standouts.

The Scottish screen sensation was born on July 24, 1976 in Glasgow. His mother, Rose, is a nurse who later became a college reader while his father was identified as Alister Fraser, a screenwriter and businessman.
Laura has three siblings; an older brother and two younger ones – a brother and a sister. Her family is of English, Scottish, Icelandic, Scandinavian and Irish descent and she is of British and Scottish nationality.
His academic achievements can be traced back to Hillhead High School. She also honed her performing skills at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and was a member of the Scottish Youth Theatre.
Professional Achievements
Over the past two decades, Laura Fraser’s career has been nothing short of fulfilling. Since her professional debut in 1995, the Scottish actress has appeared in over thirty films and even more than that has been recorded in her TV credits. It has also received corresponding recognition from certification bodies.
In 2013, the Screen Actors Guild Awards nominated her for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series category. The following year, in 2014, she won the award in the same category for her performance in Breaking Bad. She previously won a BAFTA Scotland Award in the ‘Best Actress in a Scottish Film’ category for her role in The Flying Scotsman (2006).
His last major award was at the 2017 BAFTA Scotland Award. She received the award for best actress – television, thanks to her role in Disappeared (2016).

Laura Fraser got her first taste of performing when her dad wrote a play for his school’s youth club and she played the female lead. She made her professional debut in 1995 on the set of a short film titled Good Day for the Bad Guys. After that, she had more film roles, including Joanne Macgowan in Little Fences (1996).
In 1998, Laura appeared in four films – Baggage Left as Chaya Silberschmidt, The Man in the Iron Mask as Bedroom Beau, Cousin Bette as Mariette, and Divorce as Margaret. She then portrayed four other characters in 1999 on the set of Virtual Sexuality as Justine Alice Parker, What Ever Happened to Harold Smith? as Joanna Robinson, Titus as Lavinia and A Christmas Carol as Belle.
Laura Fraser started the 2000s with her role in Kevin and Perry Grow Big as Candice and in 2001 she portrayed Kate in A Knight’s Tale and featured as the future in Vanilla Sky. Her next film appearance was in 2006, first in Nina’s Heavenly Delights as Lisa MacKinlay followed by Land of the Blind as Madeleine and The Flying Scotsman as Anna Obree. Fraser’s other film credits can be attributed to Cuckoo (2009), The Boys Are Back (2009), Beat (2011), Wishing You Luck (2013), Sisterhood of the Night (2014), I’m Not Not a Serial Killer (2016) and In the Cloud (2017).
Her television career started in 1996 with an episode of Victim and in the same year she played one of her recognized roles in Neverwhere as Door in 6 episodes. From 1997 to 2001 Laura appeared in television films including The Tribe, Forgive and Forget, and Station Jim. In 2004, she took 6 episodes in Conviction as Lucy Romanis and 4 episodes in He Knew He Was Right as Emily Trevelyan. The following year (2005), she portrayed Henriette in 3 episodes of the British television comedy-drama Casanova. After a brief break from television, she was seen in 4 episodes of Talk to Me in 2007.
A few TV movies later, the next series she appeared was Single Dad (2010) in 4 episodes. Lip Service came the same year and she remained on the UK Show until 2012, appearing in 8 episodes.
