BIOGRAPHY
Born in Buffalo, Kyle Chandler spent his childhood in Loganville, a small town in Georgia, on the family farm. After obtaining his degree in dramatic arts at the University of Georgia, he was spotted in 1988 by a talent scout. After a few TV films ( Unconquered , Quiet Victory ), he ended up appearing furtively in series like China Beach and Freddy’s Nightmares . In 1990, he became a soldier in and then a baseball player in Homefront , a critically acclaimed series set after World War II. This first regular role allowed him to be noticed and he eventually landed his first role in the cinema, in Pure Country .
His real breakthrough came in 1996, with Demain à la Une . For four seasons, he played Gary Hobson, a man who receives the next day’s newspaper every morning and has the opportunity to change events. However, after the end of the show, luck is no longer with Kyle Chandler. He appears in projects with no future, such as the sitcom What About Joan with Joan Cusack , the legal drama The Lyon’s Den with Rob Lowe or two pilots not selected by the channels ( Capital City and Lies and the Wives We Tell Them To ).
In 2005, audiences rediscovered him in the blockbuster King Kong , in which he played the popular actor who lands on Skull Island alongside Naomi Watts .
