BIOGRAPHY
Juana Arias is a Colombian actress who got her first job at age 9 in a McDonald’s commercial. Shortly after, she became a child reporter, from the ages of 10 to 13, taking her mother, who was a journalist, as an example. Juanita, as she is also known in the media, always knew that she would become an actress, but her mother did not allow her to follow her dream until she finished studying. For college, Juana was able to go to New York to complete her studies in acting.
Juana has gained fans in Mexico since her appearance in Sincronía , by Gustavo Loza, and in Run Coyote Run (2017), an FX series starring Harold Torres. Juana was born in Bogotá and moved to the United States during her youth to study acting at Lee Strasberg’s academy, one of the most prestigious in the industry. Her first role in the United States was in Men in Black 3 (2012), alongside Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones. Although it was an extra role, Juana remembers it as one of the best experiences: “I had to be one of the 4 actors who shared the scene with Will Smith, my hand was shaking when he greeted me but I remember it with great affection,” she said. in interview for Sensacine México.
He has developed a fruitful career on the small screen, as he has participated in some of the most popular series of the last years of the 2010s, including Narcos: México , El Señor de los Cielos and Como tú no hay dos , a telenovela broadcast on Televisa. In her native Colombia she has also been part of productions loved by the people and as an example of her is her work in 5 widows loose. In 2020 she had a special appearance in How to Survive Single , a series created, directed and starring Sebastián Zurita alongside her brother Emiliano Zurita. The cast of the production is made up of young talents such as Roberto Flores, Tato Alexander and Fabrizio Santini. Among her next projects is Michel Franco’s What Some Dreamed , an experience that Juana describes as an “honor, a huge achievement in her career.” In this film the actress shares credits with Diego Boneta and Darío Yazbek Bernal. Likewise, Juana participates in the Space series, The Girl Who Cleans . This production puts on screen the story of a woman who will end up using her profession to clean up crimes; The release date is still confirmed.
