Josh Hader is a professional baseball pitcher who currently for the MLB Brewers in Milwaukee. Josh has so much in common with fellow Brewers teammate and teammate Zach Davies. They both started their MLB careers with the Baltimore Orioles and are currently promoting on the same team (the Milwaukee Brewers). Hader was selected in the MLB draft in 2012 and traded twice before joining the Brewers in 2015 with whom he made his first MLB appearance in 2017.

Prior to that, in 2015, Hader represented the United States at the Pan American Games with the national baseball team and in 2016, he participated in the All-Star Futures Game.

Bio of Josh Hader

He was born in Millersville, Maryland on April 7, 1994 as Josh Ronald Hader. He attended Old Mill High School, Millersville, Maryland, where he played on the school’s baseball team and recorded a 10–0 win/loss record as a senior. He also averaged .30 and recorded one hundred and twenty-five strikeouts. His batting average was over 0.40.

After graduating from high school, Josh Hader was to attend Anne Arundel Community College before the Baltimore Orioles selected him as the 582nd overall pick in the nineteenth round of the 2012 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft. turning pro, he signed a $40,000 contract with the Orioles and dropped out of college. He saw tremendous improvement in his first few months with the Orioles. His fastball speed increased from 135–142 mph (his high school player record) to 94/95 mph (151–153 km/h).

He played at the rookie level in the Gulf Coast League with the Gulf Coast Orioles and the Aberdeen Ironbirds of the New York–Penn League with whom he recorded 14 hits, nine walks and 48 pitches. In 2013, he transferred to Delmarva Shorebirds of the Class A South Atlantic League A. He started all seventeen appearances he played in the league’s All-Star Games and broke a record 3-6 with seventy-nine strikeouts and a 2.65 silver.

In July of that year, Hader and outfielder LJ Hoes were traded to the Houston Astros in exchange for Bud Norris. He would finish that season with the Quad Cities River Bandits of the Class A Midwest League. He started the 2014 season in throwing for the Class A-Advanced California League Lancaster JetHawks. This season, he combined with 2 high pitchers to pitch a no-hitter.

After going 9–2 with a league and ERA-leading 2.70 and 112 strikeouts, he was promoted to Corpus Christi Hooks of Class AA Texas League and will be named Pitcher of the year in California at the end of the season. He also played with Corpus Christi the following season and would remain with the team until July 2015 when he was traded alongside Domingo Santana, Adrian Houser and Brett Phillips to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for Mike Fiers and Carlos. The Brewers immediately assigned him to the Biloxi Shuckers of the Class AA Southern League with whom he would finish that season recording an ERA of 3.03. At the end of the season, the Brewers invited him to their 2016 spring training. He started his 2018 season in Milwaukee in April, recording eight strikeouts in a three-inning outing and becoming the first pitcher to record such a record. In a game against the Cincinnati Reds, he recorded a 2.2 inning save, faced nine batters with eight strikeouts and one base. Josh Hader also posted 1.21 ERA with eighty-three strikeouts over forty-four innings to be named to the 2018 MLB All-Star Game.

During the 2018 MLB All-Star Game, a series of tweets from Josh Hader containing homophobic, sexist, and racist content surfaced online. Due to the controversy caused by the tweets, baseball friends and family members who attended the game were given blank jerseys. After the game, Hader issued an apology, saying he was immature when he posted those tweets between mid-2011 and late 2012. He also deleted his Twitter account.

His family

Hader’s family consists of his parents Patricia and Tom Harder and his girlfriend Maria Macias. His family has been very supportive and there for him. They sometimes attend his games and during the tweet controversy there were blank shirts there.

Josh named his father as his biggest influencer and role model. According to him, he always dreamed of being a major league player and it was his father who pushed him very hard to succeed.
