Josh Brown Wife, Molly Brown Divorce, Biography, Other Facts

Professionally known and referred to as Josh Brown, Joshua Clell Brown is a former football goaltender who was selected in the 2003 NFL Draft and played for big teams like the Seattle Seahawks, Cincinnati Bengals, St. Louis Rams and the New York Giants.

The New York Giants were Josh’s last team to play as they had to let him go in October 2015, after he publicly admitted to having an abusive relationship with his wife, Molly Brown. Here’s everything you need to know about the former Oklahoma-born player.

Josh Brown’s Biography

Brown was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on April 29, 1979. The names of his parents and siblings (if he has any) are not known and he is an alumnus of Foyil Secondary School. Josh started playing football at an early age, right after his family moved from Tulsa. He was in eighth grade at the time. Before turning professional, Josh Brown also played college football in Nebraska.

Professional career

Brown’s professional career began in 2003 after he was named 222nd overall by the Seattle Seahawks in the 2003 NFL Draft. Later in October, Josh scored a 58-yard field goal in the game against the Green Bay Packers, which remains the longest and best goal of his career to this day.

In another game against the Green Bay Packers, after his season debut, Brown kicked all three PATs, along with two goals. In October 2004, for the first time in his career, he beat an opponent for 35 yards against the St. Louis Rams.

He remained with the Seahawks until the end of the 2007 season. In January 2008, he signed with the St. Louis Rams. The new deal earned him the highest paid kicker at the time. With the Rams, he scored four goals, including the 49-yarder that won them the game against Washington Redskins. He also recorded a 36-yard touchdown pass and a 60-yard field goal.

Unfortunately, his $14.2 million five-year contract with the Rams was terminated in April 2012 as the team prepared to draft Greg Zuerlein’s 2012 NFL Draft. He signed with the New York Jets on a contract from May to August 2012.

In December, the Cincinnati Bengals signed him to replace Mike Nugent, who was injured at the time. After beating Billy Cundiff and Neil Rackers on Dec. 23, Josh Brown scored a game-winning goal against the Pittsburgh Steelers to give the Bengals their first consecutive playoff appearance in nearly three decades.

Next season he signed with the New YorkGiants scored 23 of 26 goals and had 31 of 31 points in his first season with the team. As the season drew to a close, he had 45 yards in a game against the Detroit Lions and five career goals in the game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 2014, Brown signed a two-year contract with the Giants which was worth $2.6 million and that season he scored 24 of 26 goals, scoring his 44 extra points conversion. He became a free agent in 2015 after his contract with the Giants expired. In April 2016, it was announced that Josh had re-signed with the Giants on a two-year deal worth $4 million. In August, however, he was suspended for one game by the NFL for violating the league’s conduct policy.

In October, documents were released by the Washington Sheriff’s Office in which Josh Brown admitted to verbally and physically assaulting his wife, Molly Brown. After the documents were released, Giants co-founder John Mara said Mr Brown had only re-signed, even after confessing to abusing his wife in the past.

Following several criticisms, the next day the NFL had to put Brown on the commissioner’s list of exemptions after reviewing the documents. The Giants then compared Josh Brown for their Week 7 game against the Los Angeles Rams in London, promising to review his record after the game.

The Giants had to release Brown on October 25, 2016. The giants in a statement today apologized for their “wrong” approach to the matter. They added that he was free to sign with any other team and would be placed back on the exempt list pending the NFL’s investigation.

In 2017, he received a six-game ban as a free agent after the NFL continued its investigation into a previous case of domestic violence. The suspension is now over and Brown is once again free to sign with an NFL team. Unfortunately, no team has signed him yet.
