BIOGRAPHY
French actress Joséphine Japy has a master’s degree in Sociology from Sciences Po Lyon, a grande école in France. She debuted in the 2005 film Gray Souls , directed by Yves Angelo. The following years she made films of various genres such as comedy, thriller and biopic, showing great versatility. In 2014, she played the lead role of Charlie in the film Respire , which was presented at the International Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival. For her role in the film directed by Mélanie Laurent, Japy was nominated for several awards including the César Award for New Actress. Years later, she starred alongside François Civil and Benjamin Lavernhe in the romantic comedy Love at Second Sight (2019). We will soon be able to see her as part of the main cast of the new Netflix miniseries, Tapie (2023), which follows the story of Bernad Tapie, a worker who becomes one of the most controversial public figures in France.
