John Patrick McEnroe, Jr. was born on 18 February 1959, in Wiesbaden, (then) West Germany. He is a former number one-ranked tennis player, known for winning several Grand Slam, WCT Finals, and Masters Grand Prix titles. In 1999, John was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. He was the Number 1-ranked Male Tennis Player for a total of 170 weeks, won the Davis Cup Commitment Award, ATP Player of the Year Award, among others, during a career which spanned almost 30 years. Although John has retired from professional tennis, he still occasionally plays in senior events on the ATP Champions Tour.
